Kevin Durant focused on improving his game – NBA News
Oklahoma City Thunder super star Kevin Durant (KD) is working hard during the offseason with one goal in mind; to improve as a basketball player as much as he can. Durant has been one of the most prominent players during the offseason
and has made many public appearances.
The star has taken part in foreign tours and has headlined various pro am basketball games within the United States. His performances throughout the period have been exceptional, but Durant is not satisfied.
The OKC forward recently revealed that he is driven to get better every day, and be the best that he can possibly be. In a telephonic interview with Sports Radio Interviews, the OKC power forward said;
“I'm just trying to grow. That's one thing I told myself is, 'Don't worry about who people say is the best player.' Of course I want to get there, but I know I've got a long ways to go. I just want to keep growing and see where
it takes me. Every day I try to improve. Every time I step out on that floor, try to get better. Never settle for less. After it's all said and done, I can tell how hard I worked and if I end up being the best player, then of course I'm happy. I'm just going
to work until I can be the best player I can be. That's all I can say.”
It is hard to see where the forward will go from here, as an improvement in his game would be nothing short of frightening. The player is already one of the best in the world. On a personal level, Durant has achieved huge accolades
during his short time in the league. He won the Rookie of the Year award coming into the NBA and has not looked back since.
Kevin’s prowess as a player can be highlighted by the consecutive NBA scoring titles he has won in the last two years. The achievement becomes all the more impressive, considering that he had to fight off the likes of LeBron James,
Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony to land the honour.
As a team player, Durant also showed his worth last season with some stirring displays. Time and again, he stepped up when it mattered most to haul his team out of trouble and get them past the finish line. A testament to that
was that Oklahoma City Thunder reached the Western Conference Finals last season against all expectations.
In the Conference Finals though, KD and Thunder lost out against the brilliance of Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. But, if Durant continues to get better, it is hard to see who would stop him from going past the Conference
Finals next time around.
