Kevin Durant is busy multi-tasking during the NBA lockout – NBA Update
Oklahoma City Thunder’s general manager Sam Presti and head coach Scott Brooks normally spend the offseason making sure their players are hundred percent fit and well focused for the next season. However, this time around, things
are a bit different for the franchise as a result of the lockout, which prohibits the NBA teams from keeping contacts with their players.
With the work stoppage in the league heading towards its first month of completion, the Oklahoma City Thunders scoring machine Kevin Durant is keeping connected with the players.
“I've checked in with everybody. First off, I trust all my guys. They are all working hard and getting ready for next season. We're all family and we're going to keep checking in with each other and make sure we get through this.”
Durant said.
Apart from keeping in touch with the teammates, the 22 year old Durant is also working out with his personal trainer in Miami to keep himself in shape. Durant is planning to assemble the whole team at a one place for the drills
if the NBA lockout is extended for a longer period.
Kevin has been travelling the whole month to work out with the players and stated that he will be going to Houston with a couple of teammates to have a training session with the veteran centre Kendrick Perkins
“I like travelling. Working out with the guys, it's going to help us get better. Durant said.
Durant, who is known as one of the most athletic and active players in the NBA, is showing the same aptitude off the court by keeping the energy on the move despite of the uncertain situation. He was the driving force for the inexperienced
Oklahoma City Thunder in the last season as well which guided the team into the Western Conference Finals and stunned the world of NBA. The lack of experience and young talent on the roster hampered the Thunders against the veteran power of the Dallas Mavericks.
However, the potent scorer Durant is not disheartened with the failure and his biggest objective in the next season will be becoming the NBA Champion. The Thunders have earned the reputation of the toughest team in the Western
Conference as the expectations of the fans will be sky-high.
“The expectations are something we can't control. I know losing (to Dallas), it hurt. But I had to look at it from the bigger picture. We got better. I wanted to win, but I look at it now like we have to go through some things
before we get all the way there.” Kevin said.
