Kevin Durant sick of San Antonio Spurs questions - NBA Update
Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has already grown tired of all the attention on San Antonio Spurs, and the Western Conference Finals haven’t even started yet. During a recent interview, Durant was asked one too many times
about the Spurs and the OKC forward didn’t appreciate that one bit.
Kevin in fact declared that he didn’t want to answer any more questions about the San Antonio outfit. He seemed testy, something not usually associated with Durant.
Durant was asked about how the Spurs would defend him, given that he is the most potent offensive force on the OKC roster, or perhaps in the entire NBA as his three consecutive scoring championships would suggest.
Kevin though didn’t want to think about the Spurs defence; he was just going to be himself and castigated the reporters for putting too much emphasis on San Antonio.
“I’m just going to play my game,” Durant started. “I can’t really think about how those guys are going to defend me. They’re a tough defensive group. But every question is about how the Spurs are going to come and how the Spurs
are going to play.”
In fact, the lanky Thunder forward argued that the Thunder should be shown some respect going into the Conference Finals as well. He didn’t want to take anything away from the Spurs but reiterated that the Oklahoma City Thunder
are a power to be reckoned with as well.
“But you got to ask me how we’re going to come at them. We’re a tough team as well. We come out and play hard. We have a lot of weapons as well. I know they’re the No. 1 seed, they’re a tough group and they haven’t lost in a couple
of months but I think that we bring another dimension to the table as well. And we can come out and compete.”
Durant and the Thunder have been in impressive form so far in the post season. They swept the defending champions Dallas Mavericks 4 – 0 in their first round tie and then disposed off the Los Angeles Lakers 4 – 1 in the next round.
The Spurs meanwhile are 8 – 0 in the playoffs so far.
