Kevin Durant to star in a major Hollywood film this fall – NBA Update
Just when it seemed that Kevin Durant had enjoyed his fair share of publicity this summer, he emerged in the mix of things once again this past week. Apparently, the Oklahoma City Thunder star forward is all set to feature in a
major Hollywood film later this year.
Durant has been on the road, flaring up the summer leagues since the inception of the lockout. Not only that, he has been a major name in the overseas transfer zone as well. With the lockout in effect, many players have been pondering
over a move to the foreign leagues and there has been a lot of speculation regarding Durant as well.
The focus however has suddenly shifted from everything that he has been involved in during the lockout and is now fixed at this new revelation. The movie is expected to have a basketball subplot and sources have claimed that it
will probably be entering the production stage around the middle of September.
It has also been learnt that the filming location has been restricted to the Oklahoma City and the Baton Rouge in Los Angeles. If the film goes underway and Durant does feature, it will be the biggest off-court endeavour in his
four year old basketball career. Not only will it be a new experience, it ought to further his reputation as a superstar of the game.
Neither Kevin nor his agent could be approached for comments regarding the news; however, it is certain that the Durant will remain in the focal point of attention until any official statement is received by Durant’s agent or Durant
himself.
Recently, another NBA star in the form of Ron Artest was scheduled to join the Cheshire Jets in the British Basketball League on the condition that the Jets would help him advance his television career. The Jets had helped Ron
acquire a part in one of Britain’s leading soap operas; however, the move could not materialize due to insurance issues which could not be resolved.
Where the lockout has been upsetting for everyone, especially the fans, it has helped depict the ‘other’ side of quite a few athletes. Durant has been leading the way. Not only has he become as internet sensation thanks to his
flamboyant performances in the Rucker Park and Goodman leagues, he has revealed that there is an artist hidden inside as well.
With the lockout in process, there could not have been a better time for Durant to enter into such a deal. Although the training sessions are scheduled to start in September, the lockout situation is looking quite bleak and the
chances of things getting resolved between the players and the NBA executives seem quite slim as of now.
