Asked at a news conference, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international, Kevin Gameiro has said that he has no regrets over joining Paris Saint-Germain last summer despite rumours linking the Ligue 1 leader with the likes of Carlos Tevez and Olivier Giroud
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153 last summer. Gameiro had scored 24 Ligue 1 goals for Lorient last season.
This campaign, the striker has scored 10 goals in 22 Ligue 1 games which is perhaps a respectable statistic for a striker who has just started making a name for himself. However, his ten goals have not come easy. There have been long periods of silence for
the striker.
Adding to this, there are constant rumours of arrival of a new striker in the summer transfer window. Throughout the January transfer window, PSG were linked with the likes of Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901. However, Les
Parisiens failed to bring either of the two to the Parc des Princes.
However, Les Parisiens are sure to sign a top striker this summer. Reports claim of the Ile club’s interest in Montpellier Herault striker Olivier Giroud who is scoring goals for fun at the moment. The arrival of any new striker threatens Gameiro’s place
in the starting XI.
However, despite all this, the young striker is not at all worried about how things will shape when the next campaign begins.
“I do not regret my choice, even though there were difficult moments. It is how you learn. Paris is the club of my heart. I have not been on top and there are matches in which I could not score more goals. But being successful by the end, it would shape
an entire season.”
Adaptation to a new style of play is certainly difficult and is the main reason why he has failed to lit alight Ligue 1 once again.
The youngster did not hesitate to point out the reasons behind his spells of goalless games.
“I always used to play with two strikers. For me, there is less space and defenders are paying more attention to me.”
