Kevin Garnett, Dwyane Wade: Ranking the NBA aging superstars – Part 3
7. Kevin Garnett
Kevin Garnett could have called it quits a long time back, but his passion for the game has kept him on the court for a long period of time. After toiling for the Minnesota Timberwolves for 12 years he finally joined the strong
Boston Celtics in hope for a championship ring on his finger.
With his current level of physical fitness it seems that he may play for quite a few more seasons. At 36 years of age he is a role model for the entire Celtics team and is averaging pretty big numbers.
In fact, he is in the form of his life as his stats are better than his stats in the previous two seasons at Boston. Though Celtics had a major setback this season when they lost Ray Allen to the Heat in the summer transfer window,
but are doing fine so far this season and Kevin Garnett playing a major role in their progress so far this season.
They brought in Jason Terry to replace Ray Allen, but to be honest there is no one who can replace Allen. With guard Rajon Rondo assisting him, Garnett may continue to be a strong force this season.
6. Dwyane Wade
He has been playing for Miami Heat for about a decade now. He has remained loyal to his club through thick and thin, and is now part of a star studded line up with LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen on his side. He won NBA
finals for Miami last year, and continues to put in big numbers this season as well.
At 31, he has the energy and freshness of a teenager. Though his points per game have decreased this season but that has also something to do with the fact that his on court minutes are also decreased. But with the current Heat
setup he does not need to score 30 plus points for Heat to win. Rather than taking 18 or 20 attempts per game, he can reduce it may be to 15 but continues to be as effective as ever and will play a critical role when Heat try to defend their NBA championship
this season.
