Kevin GroBkreutz believes Borussia Dortmund are better than Bayern Munich - Bundesliga News
Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin GroBkreutz believes that his side is superiority to the current leaders, Bayern Munich. He also expressed desire of retaining the Bundesliga crown, few days ahead of his side’s mouth-watering encounter with Bayern Munich.
GroBkreutz agreed to the remarks made by his teammate, Mario Gotze, regarding his team’s chances this term. He thought that Dortmund won’t be easy opponents for Jupp Heynckes’ men despite being away from home. The winger predicted a close finish, predicting
a win for his side on Saturday.
Bayern will host their ferocious title rivals on Saturday, November 19, at Allianz-Arena. A win for Dortmund will inch them closer to the Reds but a loss on Saturday would open an eight-point gap between the two rivals.
The winger reckoned that Dortmund are much stronger compared to the Munich giants this term and vowed to justify his words in the game against them after a well-earned international break.
However, the player wished to take on the Reds without any break in order to make use of good form, which the Borussians have been displaying for the past five games. He considered the upcoming international break an injustice to his team’s form and urged
his teammates not to lose momentum ahead of the all-important encounter.
While talking to Bild, the 23-year-old, further stated:
"We are the old Borussia again. We earned a 5-1 win against Wolfsburg, we are on par with Munich. I would have preferred to play Bayern immediately. It's a real shame that we are stopped by the international break."
Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp understandably kept balance between his side and Bayern, while describing the quality in both ranks. He admitted to Bayern’s dominance so far in all competitions this term and regarded his team as underdogs against a strong
Munich outfit.
He revealed his desire of winning against the Bavarian giants, but, at the same time, urged his players not to think too far ahead and take it one game at a time.
The game on Saturday holds immense importance not just for Bayern and Dortmund, but also for the likes of Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach, who are level on points with the Black Yellows.
