The Borussia Dortmund winger has been accused of passing racist comments to Gerald Asamoah, seconds after Dortmund scored the winner in the 120th minute.
Kevin Grosskreutz has been under scrutiny after Greuther Furth players accused him of racially insulting Gerald Asamoah. The incident is believed to have happened after Dortmund scored the winner in the 120th minute
against the 2.Bundesliga leaders in the semi-final of the German Cup on Tuesday, March 20.
Asamoah’s teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mergim-Mavraj-c25221, claimed that he had witnessed the incident as Grosskreutz ran to Asamoah after the goal had been scored. Mavraj insisted that the German Football Association should look into the matter and make
sure this does not happen again.
While talking to a local publication, Bild, the defender further added:  "Grosskreutz's insults were against Asamoah's skin colour. Such a thing has no business on the pitch."
On the other hand, Grosskreutz denied any such claims and reckons that everything came out as a result of frustration from Furth players. The 24-year-old admitted that he went up to Asamoah after Dortmund went 1-0 but stated that
he only celebrated the goal in front of him.
"It is not true that I racially abused http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerald-Asamoah-c14650. This is simply wrong! Anyone who knows me knows that I would not do such a thing. I didn't say anything to him other than to cheer with both fists held high," Grosskreutz added.
Asamoah, though, looked disappointed after the incident and preferred staying coy. He insisted that there is nothing to talk about and wants to focus on the remaining 2.Bundesliga campaign.
"I need not say much of that guy, he's not worth talking about," Asamoah concluded.
Dortmund have already advanced into the final of the German Cup where they will take on Bayern Munich, who defeated Borussia Monchengladbach on penalties in the other semi-final on Wednesday, March 21. The two sides will meet in
the final on April 11 at the Olympiastadion.
The Borussians will next be seen in action against FC Koln on Sunday, March 25, as they also look to strengthen their claim at the top spot in the league table.
