Kevin Kisner looking to make the cut this time around at the Greenbrier Classic
Kevin Kisner earned his PGA Tour card after his 11th place finish in the money’s list on the 2010 Nationwide Tour. To this date, Kisner has only four professional wins.
Out of these wins, one was on the Nationwide Tour, however, he has not managed to win on the PGA Tour yet.
So far, at the PGA Tour, Kevin’s results are not very promising. He has played fourteen events and managed the cut in six of them.
With the Greenbrier Classic coming up, Kevin has the perfect chance to turn around his season.
If we look at the performance of Kisner in the last four events that he featured in, he managed the cut in only two. At the St. Jude Classic, he ended up at T13, which is his best finish so far on the PGA Tour.
Kisner is currently ranked at 497 in the world and has a FedEx Cup ranking of 159. If he wants to improve on his rankings, he must focus on making cuts more frequently.
Last year when Kevin played at the Greenbrier Classic, he failed to make the cut by a good eight strokes. Kevin had a very disturbed schedule last season, “That was the worst experience I had all year, as far as traveling,” said Kevin.
His preparations were hampered due to the long distance traveling and the bad weather. At the end, Kevin hardly managed to practice on the golf course.
"We travel 25 to 30 weeks a year, but that was the worst I had. I felt like a zombie when I teed off on Thursday. I never saw the course," said Kevin, after his dismal show at the 2011 Greenbrier Classic.
Kevin was playing at the Old White TPC course for the first time. He barely knew the course, although he managed to get some holes during the practice.
However, to do well in such a high profile tournament, one has to practice hard, especially when one is playing for the first time.
Kevin should take heart from his performance at the St. Jude Classic.
This time around, Kevin has the time to practice, so hopefully he will come up with a decent show.
