Kevin Kouzmanoff shines as Colorado Rockies humiliate Houston Astros 19-3 - MLB Update

Colorado Rockies’ third baseman, Kevin Kouzmanoff had a remarkable day with the bat as he hit five RBIs including two homers and went 3-for-6 with an average of .247 in the Rockies’ 19-3 win against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park, Houston on September
25.
Rockies executed particularly well as they added three runs in the second inning to get a 3-0 lead. Chris Iannetta hit a grounder into fielder’s choice to the pitcher and Jordan Pacheco added the first run for the Rockies. The second run was taken by Ty
Wigginton when Thomas Field singled off left-field. Mark Ellis hit a sacrifice fly to left-field and Field scored the third run during the second inning.
Rockies advanced their lead by posting two runs in the third inning while Astros also scored a single run to reduce their lead 5-1 at the end of the third. Pacheco added one run when Field singled off centre-field. The second run was taken by Iannetta when
Field moved to third base on a balk by Lucas Harrell.
On the other side, Jordan Schafer scored the first run for Astros when Jose Altuve hit a single-run drive to deep right-centre. Later on Altuve moved to third base on the throwing error of Rockies’ centre-fielder Eric Young Jr.
In the fourth inning, Rockies got an 8-1 lead by taking three runs. Pacheco singled off left-field and Seth Smith scored one run. The second run was taken by Kouzmanoff when Wigginton doubled to deep left-field. Wigginton added the third run during fourth
inning when Field singled off centre-field. Rockies took 9-1 lead at the top of fifth inning when Kouzmanoff hit a sacrifice fly to right-field and Young Jr. completed a single run.
Kevin Millwood struck a two-run homer (337 feet) towards left-field and Field posted a single run to give the Rockies an 11-1 lead during the sixth. Rockies smashed three in the seventh and five runs in the eighth inning, respectively, to advance their lead
19-1. During eighth inning, Kouzmanoff hit a two-run homer (345 feet) towards left-field Ellis added one run. Iannetta homered (395 feet) to left-centre while Pacheco and Wigginton both scored two runs jointly.
Astros were able to add just two runs in the ninth inning to cut their deficit 19-3. As a result, Rockies tied the four-game series 2-2 after defeating the Astros in the series decider.
