Karlheinz Förster has urged the German international to become a fan favourite after scoring more goals during the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign
The former Germany defender and an adviser to Dynamo Moscow’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 at Arena Khimki on Tuesday.
The Moscow-based club will play the second-leg after suffering a 2-0 defeat in the first-leg against the Swabians last week.
Förster insisted that the Russian outfit needs to be on their toes when they face the German outfit at home, and urged Kuranyi to become more lethal in front of the goal if he is to help his side progress to the group stages of
the European tournament.
The German International, who scored 13 goals in 41 league appearances last season, struggled to rediscover his old form this season, having failed to score a goal in the opening six league games of the ongoing Russian championship.
“He looked weak. After an hour, he started having seizures. This suggests that he is not ready one hundred percent physically. Kuranyi is an important player for this club and I think he will regain his confidence in near future.”
The former Olympic Lyonnais man was quoted as saying.
Forster admitted that the 30-year-old attacker needs to understand that his side needs him at the moment as they do not have many strikers available in the squad after the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Samedov-c4609.
The Ukrainian forward, who scored 11 goals in 37 league appearances, joined Fortuna Düsseldorf and Samedov, who scored six goals in 43 outings, switched to Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this month.
Forster revealed that the Russian outfit has regained their confidence after winning the latest league tie 3-2 against Lokomotiv Moscow. The Louders recorded their first win of the ongoing campaign after suffering back-to-back
defeats against Volga, Zenit, Spartak Moscow, Rubin Kazan and Terek Grozny.
The EUFA European Football championship winner warned the White-blues against complacency, telling them that they will find it difficult to outcast the German outfit despite playing at home.
