Kevin Painter determined to make a difference at the Premier League of Darts
Following his entry into the Premier League of darts for the first time, Daventry darts player Kevin Painter is all set and geared to deliver his best at the event.
Painter’s participation in the event came in the form of his collaboration with finalist Andy Hamilton, who is also making his debut in the event.
According to Painter, it is a key opportunity for him on the whole to include himself among the best of darts.
Talking to BBC radio, he said. "To be recognised as one of the eight best players in the world on form is a great achievement. There were several other players who had a shout so I'm really pleased".
However, apart from registering his name among the best of darts, he is also looking forward to making his space among the entertaining lot of darts.
His focus is mainly towards gripping the attention of his fans to prevent them from boredom, especially when he is standing on the oche.
Kevin will be opening his campaign against prominent darts player Gary Anderson at Manchester Arena.
It is important to mention here that Anderson has already been able to establish his reputation as a classic darts player.
He is currently the defending champion after he was able to defeat Adrian Lewis last year.
During the entire 14 week event, Painter will also be facing encounters with other players like Taylor, Lewis, Barney and Wade.
"The winner gets £150,000. I'm not going to say I'm going to be the champion that would be daft. I just want to play as well as I can," he admitted.
For Painter, this is the perfect opportunity since he will be facing the cream of the crop. His performance at Ladbrokes was not as commendable and appreciated as to what was anticipated from him.
He had to face early departure. However, with the Premier League coming up, it is the perfect event that can help him reinstate his credibility.
Needless to mention that the players performing well in this event will be able to gain access into the upcoming O2 event of darts. Hence, it is mandatory for Painter to come up with some exceptional breakthrough.
