Kevin Painter hits the jackpot against “The Jackpot”!!!
Kevin Painter painted Adrian Lewis blue as he defeated the World Champion in the Premier League. An unexpected victory against Lewis has driven him ahead in the ratings as he proceeds in the league with convincing form.
“The Artist” got his fame after reaching the final at the 2004 PDC World Championship where he faced Phil Taylor. He lost against “The Power” but got the respect he needed. In 2011 he went on winning the Players Championship and got in the top players list.
Painter has been in the news for two reasons, for his shocking and unexpected wins and his rivalry with Phil Taylor. He has been fined and has received bans for misbehaving with Taylor in numerous matches.
Taylor, on the other hand, also did not stand closed mouth and had countless cold encounters with “The Artist”.
For Painter, beating Lewis gave him an extra crunch at his rivalry with Taylor. Lewis is considered as Taylor’s protégé and by this win he proved his point. This is high time for him as his touch in this competition has been miraculous and precise.
“The Artist”, by far has beaten Lewis, Gary Anderson, Simon Whitlock and Andy Hamilton which is extra-ordinary for someone who entered the competition as a wildcard entry.
“I can play a lot better, and I should be scoring better, but the big finishes make the difference in big matches", said Painter after his domination against Lewis.
Lewis did not expect defeat and appeared stunned by the last minute defeat. His form has been decent in the league by far yet the defeat by the hands of “The Artist” was something he was just not expecting.
Painter faces Andy Hamilton in the next round where Hamilton is in a must win situation to remain in the league. Painter will not be an easy opponent keeping in mind his victory against World Champion Adrian Lewis.
Lewis must win in his upcoming match against Whitlock who also appears in magical form with his recent performance in the league.
Painter’s form requires consistency. If consistent, “The Artist” can rule the world of darts with his art.
