Kevin Painter moves to the oche with immense pressure
In the upcoming encounter between Kevin Painter and James Wade in McCoy Premier League, The Artist admits he will be facing a different type of pressure.
The encounter scheduled to take place on Thursday, in Exeter, will provide both of them a chance to make their comeback in the event.
Painter, who is a debutant in the Premier League, is currently enjoying an eventful season. His start in the event has not been as pessimistic as to what was initially being expected.
After facing defeats in his opening matches against Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor, Painter was able to make his revival in his match against the Aussie Ace Simon Whitlock.
He was able to gain a convincing victory with an 8-3 score-line at Belfast. Hence, for Painter it is extremely important that The Artist pursues his winning streak.
“That probably makes this week tougher than the others,” he said. “James hasn’t won a game and he will be looking to put that right”.
He added, “It brings a different kind of pressure onto me but the one thing that has been consistent in my games so far is that I have started well”.
“If I can win the first couple of legs tonight then it might get in his head,” he concluded.
On the other hand, James Wade who has been a former Premier League champion, back in 2009, is looking for an immediate breakthrough that can help him end his currently ongoing dark phase in darts.
The Machine has so far claimed no victory in any of his game played in the Premier League. Experts suggest that this is more like a do or die situation for him.
Battling to overcome his nervous condition, Wade has to consume medication in order to keep his condition under control. This is severely affecting his performance.
Therefore, in the midst of all such circumstances, Painter is being said to be the hot favourite for the match.
According to Painter, if he is able to win the first couple of legs, he will definitely be able to strengthen his grip on the game.
Wade, on the other hand, will have to invest his maximum from the very beginning to make sure that he gains an upper hand after he dismounts from the oche.
