England batsman Kevin Pietersen has worked his way back into the International Cricket Council’s top ten Test batsmen, jumping 7 places to claim the tenth spot on the list.
Pietersen’s upward move comes after his performance in England’s second Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, played from August 2 to 6 at Headingley in Leeds. The 32-year-old proved to be the highlight of the team’s first innings, smashing a massive 149 which enabled
his team to post a total of 425 in the first innings.
The performance won Pietersen the Player of the Match award, although the game itself ended in a draw. The third and final Test, due to be played from August 16 to 20 at Lord’s in London, approaches amidst growing pressure on England as they struggle to
retain their top Test team status, and tensions surrounding Pietersen’s spat with the ECB and hints at unrest in the England dressing room.
