Kevin Pietersen may take back his retirement from ODIs and T20s – Cricket News Update
England’s premier batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806, has hinted a return to the limited-overs format in case of a change in the hectic schedule, and expressed that spending time with the family may help him reverse the decision.
The 32-year-old announced his retirement from the shorter formats of the game in May, stating busy international schedule as the sole reason. Pietersen however, continues to be an integral part of the Poms’ Test team.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and Australia (the number one ranked ODI team of
the world) in his absence.
Pietersen expressed that he had stopped enjoying the shorter versions as he has been continuously playing competitive cricket since the last decade. After spending some time with the family, the destructive batsman thinks that he may regain the hunger of
representing his adopted country in future.
"I've had my wife, mother, dad, mother-in-law, brothers and my best mates all saying to me 'don't you wish you were out there batting against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746? And I've said to them I haven't missed it at all. But maybe all I needed was a break. Who knows? I've
played a lot of cricket in the last seven years," the great batsman said.
The lanky cricketer averaged 41.84 runs per innings after 127 50-overs fixtures, with the help of nine centuries and 23 fifties. He looked in tremendous form in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but it is a pity that the fans no longer
see him play ‘white-ball’ sport at the international stage.
Pietersen is not prepared to rule out the chance of returning to ODIs and T20s in the coming years, only if his body can bear the workload.
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 captain added, "Never say never. I'm a lot older and more mature than a few years ago, so you never know. I'll never say no, but the schedule would have to be a h**l of a lot different for me to come back."
