Kevin Pietersen ruled out of ICC World Cup 2011
According to media reports, Kevin Pietersen will not be playing the remaining International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2011. It has been said that the English player will be going back to his homeland for his hernia surgery.
It has been reported that another English player, Eoin Morgan, has been recommended to ICC to replace Pietersen.
Pietersen was asked to open the batting for England in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011. He made a duck during England's close win over South Africa on Sunday at the Chidambaram stadium, Dhaka and has not scored a century in his last 27 One Day Internationals
(ODIs). Pietersen’s performance with the bat was poor, but he bowled decent off spinners.
KP’s hernia injury was diagnosed after the 2010-11 Ashes series, which were played between England and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. He stated, “It will no doubt impact my preparation but careful management should see me still play a significant role in the team's campaign”.
He also added that he is disappointed but the injury is very severe, so that is why he would not be able to play the remaining tournament.
The advanced treatment for his hernia injury would allow him to play for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), in which he would be playing for IPL franchise Deccan Chargers from where he will be earning around $ 650,000, for 2011 season.
He first played for the Royal Challengers-Bangalore.

It has been reported said that either Ian Bell or Jonathan Trott would replace him in the opening spot.
