A.C Milan midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng, has asked the fans for their support and defends the club’s summer transfer activity.
Boateng is unimpressed with the fan turnout for Milan’s opening fixture in the 2011/12 Serie A season and expected the game to be a sell-out. A Lot of seats were vacant at the San Siro as Milan hosted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 in an interesting game
of Serie A. The former Tottenham Hotspur star admitted that he was shocked to see that the game was not a sell-out and it left a very bitter feeling in his heart.
The 24-year-old knows the importance of the fans and believes that when the players are tired, it is the fans who can spur them to perform well.
Boateng said, “In all honesty, I thought it would be full. We’re champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, it was Friday night and the game was interesting. I was quite surprised, as the fans are the most important component in football. If I’m tired,
then I keep pushing for them.”
The former Genoa star added that some fans are not happy with the transfer market activity done by the club but he has urged them to remain patient and hope for the best. Boateng believes that Milan have done a very decent http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684
in the transfer market and they will continue to amaze everyone with their performances.
The Ghanaian midfielder added that he can understand that the supporters wanted to see a big name signing like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 but they cannot afford to sign a player of that calibre every season.
“Some fans weren’t happy with the transfer campaign, but we can’t buy an Ibrahimovic every summer. When I arrived last year, nobody knew who I was, but I proved myself. We don’t need more stars, but rather people who help the squad
and in that sense the club had an intelligent approach.”
Boateng is optimistic of his team’s chances ahead of the UEFA Champions League first-leg clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and believes that his team has the capability to beat the best in Europe.
