Kevin Quinn clinches Men’s 200m butterfly gold: Day three – Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational
Kevin Quinn of Una WILD-IL clinched gold medal of the Men’s 200m butterfly on last day of the 2012 Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational in Nebraska on Sunday, June 10.
The 20-year-old Quinn, who qualified in the playoff as top ranked swimmer, met expectations of his supporters by occupying gold medal of the discipline.
With his notable efforts, Quinn remained comfortably ahead of his opponents and faced no trouble in achieving the podium for gold medal. He demonstrated his stupendous efforts in the distant butterfly event and made his way of the finishing blockade with
the timing of 2 minutes and 03.55 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Stephen Yemm of NASA Wildcat Aquatics, who stayed almost 0.80 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 04.33 seconds.
Third position of the discipline was secured by Ryan Kao of La Mirada Armada, who suffered a deficit of nearly 0.60 seconds and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 2 minutes and 04.91 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Marcus Guttmann of Wisconsin Aquatics and David Fraser of Highlands Ranch, who failed to surpass each other over the finishing end and ended in a joint finish for fourth position.
The duo remained nearly 1.30 seconds apart and settled on the finishing end as fourth position holder by producing a time of 2 minutes and 06.27 seconds.
The pair of fourth fastest finishers was chased by Christopher Nolan of Tule Nation Trit, who remained only 0.03 seconds apart and secured sixth position of the event by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 06.30 seconds.
The 16-year-old Nolan was chased by Harrison Haines of Bernal’s Gator Swim Club, who was 1.95 seconds apart and ended his swim in a time of 2 minutes and 08.25 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Wesley Coles of Tule Nation Trit, who clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 09.31 seconds.
In addition, the position holders raked medals and accolades for their notable efforts after the session.
