Kevin Sinfield and Jamie Peacock of Leeds will propel them to victory against the Wigan
Kevin Sinfield and Jamie Peacock are pushing Leeds Rhinos to win against Wigan Warriors in the final showdown of the Carnegie Challenge Cup 2011, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 27, in Wembley.
Leeds is studded with two leaders who will guide their outfit to victory on the final battle of the Challenge Cup. For Peacock this is a dream come true and he is very happy about being given an opportunity a second time. Last year just a fortnight ahead
of the final showdown of the Challenge Cup, Peacock was compelled to pull out of the clash due to his season-ending injury.
This injury had damaged his knee ligament severely. However, having recovered fully from the damage which had ousted him last year, Peacock is thrilled to sweep his franchise to the win against the League toppers, Wigan Warriors.
Wigan have remained unbeaten throughout the twelve fixtures which have led to this final showdown. According to Peacock, Leeds are the underdogs of the clash which also suits them which will help the Rhinos from being over confident.
Rhinos this season have not been too lucky with their overall fitness and form of the squad, which is undermining Rhinos chances to bag the final win. Despite not-so -favourable conditions prevalent within the Leeds, there are two leaders, to whom the hopes
are clung onto.
Peacock and Sinfield have grown close to each other and their combination proves lethal for the opponents. While speaking about their on-field camaraderie, Leeds’ skipper, Sinfield stated, "If at any one moment it had been suggested that Jamie took over
when he joined us, I would not have had a problem with it." It was further acknowledged by the skipper that the Peacock has been exceptional for the team which was then seconded by Peacock himself.
While speaking about the duo’s contributions for Leeds, Peacock stated, “I would think we complement each other very well. I'm a pretty emotional person, which I think can be good for the team. Kevin is probably a bit smarter and calmer. The two different
styles work well together.”
