The Manchester United target midfielder has made it clear that a move abroad in the winter transfer market is extremely unlikely, while insisting that he has no intentions of leaving the Eindhoven giants at the moment.
PSV Eindhoven star midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Strootman-c20775, has ruled out a possibility of moving away from Philips Stadion in the upcoming January transfer window despite being linked with a number of elite European clubs.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Eindhoven giants in the summer of 2011 after donning the jersey of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 in 14 Eredivisie games, has been staging scintillating shows since arriving at Philips Stadion. His consistent and dazzling performances have garnered
him interest from a host of top European clubs including the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan.
Some reports in Dutch media claimed that the versatile midfielder would be leaving the Dutch powerhouse in the upcoming winter transfer market if a good offer comes in.
However, the midfield maestro has made it clear that he does not intend to join another club halfway through the season.
“A move abroad in the winter transfer window is by no means ideal. That would only give you two weeks to adapt to your new surroundings. If a club really wants me, they will return in the summer”, Strootman was quoted as saying to NUsport.
The Deep-lying playmaker, who has thus far also represented the Oranje in 15 games, went on to insist that it is not necessary that he will leave the Boeren before the start of the 2013/14 campaign, while admitting that he is content plying his trade at
Philips Stadion at the moment.
“And it's not like I want to leave PSV at all costs in the summer. We will hopefully play in the Champions League again next season. Of course, I have ambition and I occasionally discuss certain clubs with my agent Chiel Dekker, but a transfer's not on my
mind all the time. I am happy at PSV and want to win the league title here first”, Strootman concluded.
The 22-year-old, who has thus far represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 in 42 league games, has an ongoing contract at Philips Stadion that runs until the summer of 2016.
