Kevin Youkilis might sign with New York Yankees – MLB Update
Despite all speculations about Kevin Youkilis’ potential re-signing with the Chicago White Sox, now news is coming from a reliable source that he might sign with the New York Yankees in the coming few weeks.
Youkilis’ agent Joe Bick is also looking quite optimistic about his client and his future possible relation with the South New York baseball franchise. Youkilis, who last played for the Chicago White Sox, is making much noise with his free agency this offseason.
As soon as the 2012 Major League Baseball season was ended, speculations started to come in the media that Chicago White Sox will be signing him again as he showed and consistent performance throughout last season.
Youkilis finished the season on high note achieving persistent numbers of .235 hitting average along with 19 homers, 60 RBIs and .336 OBP. Though these are certainly consistent stats, however the White Sox management did not fancy it and turned their attention
bringing some pitchers instead of outfielders.
Now since Youkilis and his agent are willing to accept any offer from the Yankees’, both have also stated slightly that their new potential future will be a success story all sides. Yankees with absence of Alex Rodriguez due to hip surgery were already in
insignificant confusion but now they are seeing Youkilis a potential saviour.
“We have all-stars all over the place, we have Hall of Fame players across the board, I think obviously there’s needs, but, last year at this time, we (didn’t) have Chavez and Ibanez and Stewart and a number of other guys. And they played very, very key
roles during the year and down the stretch,” A-Rod said.
A-Rod, who isn’t supposed to return until July at the earliest, said, “We’ve seen this movie before, Hopefully it has the same ending as ‘09. I remember when I went down, a lot of people counted us out and we had a pretty tough April. But sometime around
May, the magic started and it just got better.”
Youkilis, having eight-year Major League experience at third base, is certainly good replacement for Rodriguez, who might not play the first half of the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
