Key LPGA stars brace for battle at Vancouver
American Paula Creamer, Lexi Thompson, Natalie Gulbis and South Korean Na Yeon Choi are the contenders equipped with the abilities needed to succeed at CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, scheduled to be played from August 20-26, at The Vancouver Golf Club.
Analysts said that the four LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars are in high spirits, as they have performed above average in some of the matches recently.
As for Choi, she has been the best so far. The South Korean star was more than thrilled when she saw her name on top of the leaderboard at the US Women’s Open 2012. It was her first major victory, and she vowed to do her best in the coming tournaments.
Analysts said that there will be many players at Vancouver, who are able to beat the odds, as some have already expressed their hope of winning the Canadian Open, which gets under way next month.
However, experts are keen to point out that the players, who firmly believe that they can win the prestigious tournament, will be successful.
Some analysts said that there are a number of top-ranked LPGA stars who still find it hard to believe that they can actually win the CN Canadian Women’s Open.
Analysts went on to say that the results of some of the recent tournaments can serve as a good yardstick, but it is very hard to predict exactly who is going to be the winner at Vancouver, Canada.
On the other hand, the current world number one Yani Tseng is also seeking to do something amazing on the course this time. Winless since her last triumph at the Kia Classic in March 2012, Tseng has now made up her mind about atoning her mistakes.
On the other hand, players who are struggling to improve their positions in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, are also brimming with confidence and they will try to grab a title in Canada next month.
South Korean Amy Yang, who came close to beating Choi in the US Women’s Open 2012, must be regretting her worse-than-expected performance. However, Yang has not lost all her hope as she is determined to offset the impact of her defeat at the hands of Choi.
