My car is a 1996 Buick Regal. The key became stuck in the gear locked position and cannot be returned to the normal off start position. It will not unlock and release the key. In order to turn off the vehicle, I had to disconnect the ignition switch from underneath the dashboard by the pedels. Key is still stuck in the ignition, how do I remove it?

  1. lol my car did this but it was a 2003 grand am :(...

you have to hit the lock button on your gearshifter... if it in is the middle console it shold have a lock thingy on the left or right side push the button or slide a key in there... it unlocked the transmission and press the emergency brake before doing this because the car will roll :(

lol know eject the key... i hope this works

  2. Try to pull it out while wiggling the steering wheel.

  3. Wiggle wiggle wiggle. If that does not work, hit it with a hammer

  4. Try pushing the key in a little further then turning the ignition to release it.
