Key less entry remote for Hyundai

I have a Hyundai Santa Fe, it has power locks, but no key less entry remote. I see you can buy them right off the internet for aroung $20. I just want to know, how that works, like do I have to take it to a dealer to be set or can I do it on my own?

  1. you got 2 options... first (cheapest but better option) is to buy just 1 power solenoid to add to the driver's side door lock. Now if you plan on purchasing an alarm system for your vehicle, you can use the unlock/lock function to open and close your doors (locks). The solenoids can be bought for about 20$ online like you saw!

Now option #2 is costlier... if your car came without the unlock feature from the original remote control, you would need to install a secondary module which you would buy straight from the factory... that's the expensive option.
