While HR is running and in park .. I re-enter vehicle and cannot move shifter k**b out of park. At first I swear it's in the brake, but the button you push to allow you to shift (on the shifter k**b)seems to be stuck in the "in" position. I feel I have not engaged park and therefore cannot remove my key from the ignition. I don't think WD-40 will do the job. Instead of "stuck" I will say the car refuses to release my key! Any ideas?

  1. have you got a shiftlock override switch?

  2. Try foot on brake, release.

Foot back on brake, try to move back to neutral.

If it doesn't work, press unlock on key, foot on brake then try again.

    Good Luck.

  3. Maybe try yanking your steering wheel left and right some.  Hopefully that works!

Wait a minute... you said while the car is still running... hmm

  4. my holden astra wont come outta park unless the brake is applied "saftey feature"
