Keyboard is not responding properly in MS Office.?

Question

In my MS Word/Outlook 2003, since ysterday, highlighting text & typing (intending to REPLACE it) merely INSERTS in front of the highlighted text. In order to replace text, I now have to click delete before typing. How did this happen? How do I fix this?

In Word 2003, click on Tools | Options | Edit tab | check the "Typing replaces selection" box | OK.  I suspect you use Word 2003 as your email editor in Outlook 2003, so fixing the problem in Word will also fix the problem in Outlook.
