  1. In school we were forced to use typing tutor with a cardboard thing that went over the top of our hands so it was noway way possible to look at the keys.

Over time and a lot of practice at typing out brains remember where every key was because it would learn to find them the hard way and it's really frustrating to keep pressing the backspace key.

So all you need is a typing tutor program a cardboard box and a little time and effort, try doing 10 to 20 minutes per night for a few weeks and you will notice a big increase in your typing skills :)

  2. Check out your local employment office.  I work at the one here, and we offer free computer classes.  Maybe yours does too :-)

  3. I don't know about a program & I learned to type on a typewritter....so I don't know how they teach keyboarding....but I would go back to the basics.  You need to re-train yourself.  When I learned they had typeing book that taught you the basics.  It was repetitive typing of the same words, or sentances.  Then 1 & 3 minuted timed speed tests.  So if they do that in keyboarding classes, see if you can get your hands on a text book.  If not, try to find an old typing book (text).  The library would be the first place I would start ---free.  I actually saved mine & if I ever had to change jobs, I pull it out & brush up.  At one time, I could type 102 words a minute with less than 3 mistakes.
