Keyport, NJ Crabbing?

Where are all the crab at? I have been crabbing mostly everyday and still nada. Thanks

  1. Are you crabbing in the back bays and waterways? Those little feeder creeks, marsh streams and ditches seem to be holding a fair amount of crabs right now. As for bait, its hard to go wrong with bunker either cut in half or used whole, poke some holes in the bait to let some of the oils out and the crabs will be all over it. Get yourself some backup areas, we usually have a few like turkey pointe, maurice river, tuckerton. Tight lines... crab lines that is and good luck!!!

Yup, sounds like your just hitting some dry ground, as the blues are being scooped up fairly regularly, ( a good sign ), here is a site with local reports.   Also I found some rotten flounder racks real cheap last month and they worked full steam, you can save a few bucks here, depending on how many pots need filling.
