Khan Research Laboratories v National Bank of Pakistan – President's Trophy, 2012/13 – Match Update – KRL win by 10 wickets
A concentrated bowling attack, led by Ali http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 (NBP) in their first-class match during the ongoing President's Trophy,
played at the Khan Research Laboratory Ground in Rawalpindi, from November 26 to 28.
KRL kicked the match off by winning the toss and putting the NBP to bat first. Ali Khan (8-4-11-5) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Irfan-c76983 (10.4-1-43-4) maintained an aggressive stance, and kept the NBP down to a first innings total of 124. Four batsmen were dismissed on duck,
and an unbeaten 45 by Anwaar Hafeez was the team’s top score. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Uzair-ul-Haq-c94734 (21), Imran Khan (20), Bilal Munir (14), and Sami Aslam (12) were the only others who registered double-digit scores, while the rest failed to contribute much.
NBP attempted to fight back via http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Syed-Mohammad-Shoaib-Ahmed-c92327 (27), Tayyab Riaz (25), and Ali Nadeem (24), saw
them reaching 239 before they were all out.
Having gained a considerable advantage, KRL now proceeded to prevent the NBP from posting too high a target for them to chase. Once again, only five of NBP’s batsmen were allowed to progress beyond single digits. Wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122 (48) was
the highest-scorer for his team, and Sami Aslam (30) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wahab-Riaz-c95839 (23) were the only other players who managed to chip in with competitive performances.
Three batsmen fell without managing to score a single run, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahat-Ali-c83301 (12-6-30-3) razed through the NBP’s batting order
and forced them to succumb, all out, at 151.
The subsequent 37-run target did not pose any difficulties for KRL, and the team managed to complete the chase without losing a single wicket. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zain-Abbas-c98522 (23*) and Tayyab Riaz (16*) guided their team safely to 39 within 4 overs, with 10 wickets still remaining.
