Khan is not intimidated by Angel and Danny Garcia’s threats – Boxing News
Being a professional fighter Amir Khan believes trash talking will not hurt him much, even though Angel and Danny Garcia have crossed their limits.
In a recent interview, Angel Garcia went on talking about Khan’s ethnicity and his Pakistani descent. His remarks regarding Khan’s god were not appreciated by fans around the world, yet the trainer of the WBC light welterweight champion felt proud of what
he said.
“I’ve just ignored everything he has said,” said the former IBF and WBA light welterweight titlist Amir Khan in an interview.
He added, “He’s trying to get under my skin. He can say what he wants, it’s not going to get to me. Even his dad has been doing it. I’ve had a lot of professional fights and I’ve been in this position before with people trash talking.”
For now, Khan ending his training camp, believing he is in the perfect shape to take on the world’s youngest unbeaten champion. However, there are still those who are criticising Khan for his long training camp. Among all, even Khan’s coach Freddie Roach
believes Khan has over trained to a certain extent but he is hopeful that the Bolton proud will defeat Danny Garcia.
“It just motivates me to train harder when opponents start mouthing off to get into that ring and knock him out,” Khan added.
In addition, Khan believes that the way Angel and Danny have been behaving is only making them stupid. To a certain extent, he is right as the hideous comments from Angel and Danny have made fans respect Khan more for his silence.
As of now, Khan is excited to take on Garcia for the WBC light welterweight title and the vacant WBA light welterweight title. If Khan wins the match, this will be the second time he will unify two titles in his career.
On the other hand, if Garcia wins he will move ahead to other bigger matches, as this one will be his biggest payday to date.
