Khan vows to knockout Danny Garcia at the press conference – Boxing News
After hearing all the bizarre comments from Angel Garcia, Danny Garcia’s father and trainer, Amir Khan finally vowed to knockout Danny Garcia in the ring.
The duo, Khan and Garcia, was present at a pre-fight press conference along with their camps. As always, Danny Garcia did not say much but his father bridged the space. Angel Garcia once again started with the racial comments, shouting ‘f****** retards’
and ‘his DNA is f***** up’ whenever Khan spoke.
“I promise you - I've never said this at a press conference - I will knock Danny Garcia out and win the titles,” said Khan after having it enough from Angel.
He added, “I'm going to hurt his son. I'm going to do it in the ring. I cannot wait until after the fight, when I've knocked his son out and I'm stood here with the titles.”
“Another thing, it's funny when he said he's never seen a Pakistani fight. He's going to see a Pakistani fight on Saturday and knock his son out.”
“I can't wait to get in there. You're going to see a British Pakistani fight on Saturday and you're going to see him knock your guy out.”
Khan will fight Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Garcia will defend his WBC light welterweight title, while Khan will be defending his WBA light welterweight title. In addition, also on the line will be Ring Magazine’s
title. In other words, it will be a triple-title unification bout.
According to CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, winner of the bout will unify all three titles and will be regarded as the best in the division.
With Khan’s promise comes a threat of Garcia’s career. The American fighter has remained unbeaten to date. He has fought the best in the division, maintaining his unbeaten streak. Garcia is coming off a victory over legendary Erik Morales, whereas Khan is
coming off a defeat by American Lamont Peterson. If Khan defeats Garcia, not only will he be the unified champion once again, he will also be the first fighter to bring a defeat in Garcia’s portfolio.
