Khawlah tipped to succeed in Betfair Supports The Animal Health Trust Fred Archer Stakes
Khawlah will be a strong contender for victory in the Betfair Supports The Animal Health Trust Fred Archer Stakes (Listed Race) at Newmarket in England on Saturday, June 30, 2012. The winner of the class-1 race will be given a cash prize of £18,714.
The track will be good in the 1 mile 4 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 15:00 GMT. The competition will be a fierce one, as there are some very good runners ready for action today.
However, the conditions will suit Khawlah more than anyone, despite the fact that she has been unable to deliver a solid result over the past couple of events. She will enter the race with a starting price of 11 to 1, which is not bad at all, especially looking at the quality of runners she will be up against.
The four-year-old filly debuted in 2010 and made a solid impression in her first ever outing, where she finished runner up. She gave a tough time to her rivals back then and fell short of victory by only three quarters in the end.
However, that did not hurt the confidence of the Saeed Bin Suroor’s trainee, who was rated as the favourite to win her next race. She did not disappoint her fans this time around and jumped to the top by one length.
In her last race of the 2010 season, Khawlah secured the third spot after a good fight with the top two finishers. Her performances in the next year were phenomenal, as she was in dominant form back then.
The Cape Cross’ daughter took part in just a couple of events in 2011 and was victorious in both of them. This gave her a lot of confidence and her fans would have expected her to start the next season strongly.
However, things did not go well for the young filly this year, as she failed to impress in both her outings so far. She finished seventh in her opening race of 2012 and followed it up with an eighth place.
Despite the lacklustre show, Khawlah has got a decent chance of making a comeback today. She will be partnered by veteran jockey, Frankie Dettori, who has won numerous races at this level and will be eying another solid run.
