Khawlah to blitz her rivals in Grosvenor Casinos Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock
Khawlah is not going to face any difficulty in crushing her rivals in the Grosvenor Casinos Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock this weekend. The going is good to firm for the Group 3 event and a cash prize of £31,191 is reserved for the ultimate champion.
The 1m3f200y meeting has attracted 11 quality runners and their names are as follows: Dorcas Lane, Goldplated, Jehannedarc, Khawlah, Mohedian Lady, Molly Malone, Myplacelater, Polygon, Primevere, Set To Music and Shimmering Surf.
The officials are due to kick off the proceedings at 15:10 GMT. Since there are plenty of powerful runners in the line-up, a nail-biting contest is on the cards.
Khawlah has been producing good results since the start her career. She remained unbeaten last season, as she was triumphant in both of her appearances.
After grabbing the first position in a Group 3 meeting, Saeed Bin Suroor’s trainee continued her good form and sealed an emphatic win in the Group 2 event last season.
The audience at Meydan saw her winning the UAE Derby Sponsored By The Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group by a nose in March last year. After two brilliant seasons, she was expected to maintain the standards this year, but the dashing filly failed terribly.
In her recent trip, the Godolphin-owned was not impressive at all. Qatar Bloodstock Dahlia Stakes saw her doing nothing special at Newmarket and as a result, she completed the order of finish in the Group 3 clash.
Despite a below par effort, the rampant runner cannot be ignored. She is going to have favourable conditions at Haydock and therefore, has the best chance of stealing the show.
Out of others, Molly Malone and Shimmering Surf seem to have good chances. The former recently finished second in the Prix D'Hedouville at Longchamp.
However, it was a soft surface at Longchamp and an entirely different ground at Haydock might make things tricky for her. Same is the situation with Shimmering Surf, who was brilliant on a soft surface at Goodwood earlier this month.
The conditions are going to suit Khawlah, who is unlikely to share success with any of her opponents. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
