The German international has called for respect for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s men as he believes that they are among the best teams across the world.
Real Madrid’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sami-Khedira-c32325 has declared that English Premier League champions, Manchester City are among the top teams across all of Europe. The midfielder was wary of the threat posed by the Citizens as he asserted that they have a lot of star power which
can take them long way.
According to Khedira, City should still be considered a threat even though they have been performing poorly in the UEFA Champions League so far. The Blues have not managed to make a mark on the prestigious tournament as they have remained win-less throughout
the group stages of the coveted competition so far.
In addition, the English outfit have shown that their lack of experience in Europe has gotten the better of them once again. Moreover they are currently finding themselves in quite a fix since they must secure a victory in all of their remaining matches.
Jose Mourinho’s men will travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 this midweek in order to lock horns with the Citizens. The match which will take place at the Etihad Stadium is a must-win for the hosts they have to come away with 3 points in order to keep their chances in the
competition alive.
If City are unable to win the match, they will crash out of the group stages of the Champions League for a second consecutive season.
Nevertheless, Khedira has refused to rule out their chances and has firmly established that they are a force to be reckoned with.
"City have fantastic players and they are all capable of being match-winners. It doesn't matter who plays. We'll need to be very focused to try and contain them. They're among the best in the world," Khedira was quoted as saying on the Bwin website.
"Dortmund showed us that it's possible to challenge City in Manchester, playing a compact game, fighting for every ball and trying to play your natural game. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be influenced by our opponent, we need to dominate the game with
our attacking potential."
City will host Real Madrid on Wednesday and a win or a draw for Real Madrid would mean that they are through to the next stage of the UEFA Champions League.
