Kho Henrikho Wibowo tames Joshua Green in qualifying round of the 2011 Bulgarian International
Indonesia’s Kho Henrikho Wibowo stamped his supremacy over England’s Joshua Green in the Men’s Singles qualifying round of the 2011 Bulgarian International, at Sofia, Bulgaria, on Thursday, October 6.
The Indonesian showed his elite skills by playing an attacking game against the English shuttler and spared no chance for him to survive in a straight-set fight which lasted for just 28 minutes.
Wibowo was just uncontrollable for Green as he played positively in the entire match and kept a firm grip over the pace of the rallies until the end of the two-set match. The English shuttler had no answer to the planned and accurate game of his Indonesian
rival and bowed down in two games.
The start of the first game was absolutely interesting when Wibowo put up a wonderful show of aggressive badminton. He showed no mercy to his rival in the first-half of the game. His speed was the major element which created the difference between both players
and helped him to set up a huge lead of 11-5.
After the break, the Indonesian played in similar style as he missed no chance to finish off the rallies. Green was just trying to survive as he failed to get his flow in the game. Wibowo won the opening game by taking just 13 minutes with a one-sided score
of 21-10.
In the following set of the match, Wibowo remained focused and continued his killing run by putting up a fabulous show of flawless badminton. His positive and composed game left his challenger in a state of helplessness. At the end of the opening half, Wibowo
created a wonderful gap of 11-7.
After getting back from the break, Green employed all of his skills but failed to impress the crowd as his rival was better in all departments of the game. Wibowo took only 15 minutes in the second set to wind it up by a 21-13 score.
Wibowo emerged as the winner of this 28-minute qualifying-round contest by a 21-10 and 21-13 margin on the score board.
