Khris Davis among the five additions to Milwaukee Brewers' roster – MLB News
Among the five Minor-League prospects who were added to the Milwaukee Brewers' 40-man roster on Tuesday, November 20, Khris Davis comes as a prolific hitter, having the potential to make the Brewers’ offence one of the strongest in the league.
A seven-round pick in 2009, Davis has commanded immense attention due to his consistency. In 82 games that he appeared this past being part of the Huntsville and Nashville, he hit .350 with 15 home-runs and 52 RBIs.
That spoke volume for the talent Davis possesses, and can make maximum use of in the Major League. For the Brewers' assistant general manager, Gord Ash, after the leg injury that Davis had and made a comeback afterwards successfully, he is a solid offensive player.
"He's a tremendous offensive player," said Ash. "He's a bit streaky, but when he's hot, he's real hot. I saw him hit the longest home run I saw all year at Nashville. It went over the batter's eye in center field."
He added, "The ability is there and in the American League it's easy to carry an extra hitter (as a Rule 5 pick). His bat is close to being big-league ready. We didn't want to lose him."
Along with the veteran batters, with some accomplished sluggers dotting the Brewers' roster, Davis will incontrovertibly be a prized addition to the club. The Brewers, it is to be emphasised, has had the unmatched offence as its forte.
From Ryan Braun to Corey Hart, there are hitters that have been a constant source of strength for the Brewers. Khris Davis, if his stats are anything to go by, is a promising player who has the potential to bolster the Brewers' offence.
Other than that, four more Minor League prospects are Hiram Burgos, Brewers' 2012 Minor League pitcher of the year, outfielder Josh Prince, right-handed pitcher Nick Bucci and outfielder Khris Davis who was ranked 18th.
With the recent move, and a player left to fill the 40-man roster, the Brewers have protected the Minor Leaguers who come with a set of skills and talent that will add to the team’s strength.
