Khulna Division v Rangpur Division – National Cricket League, 2012/13 – Match Update
An unbeaten century from Anamul Haque saw the Khulna Division home safe, enabling them to claim a 5-wicket win over the Rangpur Division in their first-class match during the ongoing National Cricket League in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, played from November 2 to 5 at the
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
The match kicked off with the Rangpur Division winning the toss and electing to bat first. Khulna’s Abdur Razzak (41-8-103-5), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ziaur-Rahman-c98624 (5-1-15-2) put in solid efforts, but Rangpur still managed to post a solid total
of 388 before they were all out on day 2.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dhiman-Ghosh-c54006 (54), and Ariful Haque (75*).  The remainder of the batting order was lacklustre, but the solid contributions
from four batsmen saw Rangpur reaching 388 before they were all out.
Khulna’s first innings was less impressive, troubled as they were by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suhrawadi-Shuvo-c91688 (27-6-73-3).
Only five batsmen – Soumya Sarkar (29), Anamul Haque (45), Shakib Al http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Mithun-Ali-c77089 (who top-scored for the team with 89) and Ziaur Rahman (19) – managed to contribute double-digit scores. The rest remained disappointing – opener
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dolar-Mahmud-c54291 scored 9 runs each, while skipper Abdur Razzak only managed an 8-run contribution. On the third day, Khulna found themselves all out at 249.
The bowlers, however, seemed determined to ensure that Khulna did not give up without a fight, and Player of the Match Soumya Sarkar (16-6-34-5) joined forces with skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdur-Razzak-c41688 (19-8-32-4) to launch a fierce attack during the opposition's second
innings.
Rangpur’s batting order collapsed completely under the strain, with only 4 batsmen managing to reach double figures - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ariful-Haque-c45422 top-scored with 17. On the final
day of play, Rangpur were all out at a dismal 92, setting Khulna a target of 232 to chase.
The team faced little to no trouble in chasing down the target. Soumya Sarkar (45), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Anamul-Haque-c44160 (104*) were the chief contributors, and despite the efforts of Rangpur's Tanveer Haider (11-0-37-3), Khulna easily reached
234 with 5 wickets to spare.
