Kiah Melverton grabs Girls 400m freestyle gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Kiah Melverton of TSS Aquatics grabbed gold medal of the Girls 400m freestyle in 16-year-olds category on day two of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Tuesday, April 9.
The 16-year-old Melverton stunned the aquatic crowd with her ruthless form in the mediocre distant event. With her astonishing pace, she faced no competition from her closest competitors and reached the wall for first position.
With her commendable pace, Melverton faced no competition from her following swimmer and transpired on the finishing end for first position with the timing of 4 minutes and 14.58 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Suwannachet of Thailand, who was only 0.35 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal with the timing of 4 minutes and 14.93 seconds.
The second fastest swimmer was followed by Eliza Ham of Nunawading, who was 0.82 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 15.75 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Kate Laidlaw of Nunawading, who remained stayed considerably slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 21.66 seconds.
Fifth position of the event was obtained by Alina Tape of Mingara, who was almost half body length slower and hit the finishing end with an effort of 4 minutes and 22.11 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was secured by Meg Parry of Nunawading, who remained 0.15 seconds slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 22.26 seconds.
Seventh finest spot of the race was obtained by Kirsten Scalone of Melbvicentre, who was 1.51 seconds apart and hit the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 23.74 seconds.
Last spot of the race was secured by Natalie Vercher of UNAV, who concluded her race in last place by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 24.04 seconds.
In addition, Melverton received a huge round of applause from the audience for her notable pace after the session.
