  1. why would you want to gymnastics for kickboxing anyway? running is an essential in any fighting style and some kind of resistance work.

  2. Ive trained at two different training centers for Muay Thai and it depends on your Khru or instructor and level of skill that your at. You'll do some jumping jacks for warm ups and rope drills to get the blood going but the main thing is a light 5-8 min jog then stretching. You might have to do some rolls when you get in the clinch and your partner knees you a few times then throws you but that's about it. Mainly the classes Im in now are hitting the heavy bag, Thai pads, focus mitts and sparring. By the way, Muay Thai is just Muay Thai w/ out the kickboxing added to it. Kickboxing is punching and kicks only. Muay Thai is kicks, punches, clinch, knees, and elbows.

  3. Alot of this will depend on the school to be honest.

Where I train Muay Thai, we do alot of running in place while throwing combinations, sprawl drills, clinch drills..etc.  Most of our ropework is done on our own.

But this same school mainly teaches BJJ, and we do alot of rolling there.

I would suggest checking out different places and talking to the instructor to see what he incorporates in his instruction.

    Hope this helps.

  4. rope work yes rolls maybe

  5. it changes from school to school and trainer to trainer, some of my coaches just have us jump rope for 5 mins then do warm up stretch for another 10, then its into pad work or sparring,  then other have us do up downs , jumping jacks and other conditioning for about 40 mins, then we do 20 mins of sparring , it all vary
