What are the differences between light contact and semi contact kickboxing?

  1. Semi-Contact - This is also called points-fighting, the fighters are only allowed very mild contact and every time a point is scored the ref puts them back on their marks and the fight continues. This type of fighting is normally for beginner belts and children.

    Light-Contact - This is when you can have more of a proper spar, you can punch and kick quite hard but not really enough to really hurt someone.

    And then there's Full Contact after this. This would be in a ring and quite often ends in a knockout.


  2. Light contact - Usually point kickboxing, light contact when punching or kicking is usually kept.

    Semi-contact - I'm not totally sure... probably punching and kicking harder or something?
