OK so i can get two 10" Rockford Fosgate P1's brand new at bestbuy on sale for $100. or i can get two 10" Kicker C10s for $120. Which one would yall choose?.................Thanks......i can also get 2 10" Alpine type E's but for $240. at bestbuy i listened to the P1's and the type E's and they sound the same with a RF p1000 amp.

Also do you have any suggestions for "10 subs that are good and are under $300?

  1. I would buy 1 10" or 12" sub on ebay.  You can get an Alpine type R 12" for around $100 and it will blow everything you mentioned away.

The biggest thing that defines how a sub will sound is the box anyway.  You can make one twelve out perform 4 15"s if it is in the right box.

If you're looking for output I would spend my money on a vented box that is built by someone who knows what they are doing.  You will be glad you did.  As far as the amp goes, a vented box is more efficient so you will need less power.  You could probably pick up a decent class d amp on ebay for under $200 that would power a type r or comparable kicker speaker fine.

If you have trouble finding some one that sounds like a right fit pm me.

  2. Don't buy at bestbuy it's really a ripoff. They overcharge to give their employees huge discounts, I know since I've worked there before. I would go with the P1's because they are really nice 10's. Put those in a sealed enclosure because it will sound a lot better, trust me. Get that amplifier you are talking about, but do research on everything because I guarentee what Bestbuy sells their prices can be beat anyday. Never get a kicker unless it's square and named solo baric because the comp's are lesser in quality. Alpine E's are a little more expensive, and sound about the same as the Fosgate's so save some money and hit up the P1's.
