Kicker L7 Question. How do you know when a L7 is blown??

Doesn't make the same crunching noise that round speakers make...haven't tried it on an amp but I'd rather as versus carrying that big mother to the car and finding out I was wasting my time.

  1. It will sound exactly the same as a blown round speaker if it itself is blown. You can also look for tears on the rubber around the cone. If you play the sub, it might sound "flappy" as if there is something loose just flapping and vibrating. You might also hear the sound of something metal scraping (like the driver).


  2. usually when a sub blow it has the dreaded "smell"...there is no way of knowing for sure unless you test it.

  4. best way is using a voltmeter put in ohm range the voltmeter and mesured each coil firdt know wich is your first and secon d coil  the first coil have small white  dots  if is ok  read 4 or 2 ohm depends  the coil and if do not read any thing this means you got blow your coil ok is the best and safe way to check
