Kicker ZX300.1 shuts off after long play at high...

Question

I can't figure out why the amp shuts off after long play music at a high volume and when i turn the stereo off for about 5 minutes then turn it back on the amp works again.I'm not sure if it's a bad ground or what it could be it's in my trunk of my car so i think it would have enough ventaltion of air to keep it from overheating.Any advice would help please.
