i am running one 12" kicker cvr w/ dual 4ohm voice coils that has a 400w rms max (200w per channel) and i am looking to buy one of these amps. they both run at 2ohm stable but the jl is only 300w rms when bridged at 2ohm (150w x 2),and is $80 while the kicker is running at 400w x 1 rms for $130. which would you choose?

  1. Kicker for two reasons. there products are matched to be in tuned to each other the kicker will last longer and you will get the perfect bass you are looking for. you will have to max the JL while only half gain on the kicker.

plus the kicker amp is 2ohm stable. and you have all kicker in your ride not the mis matched stuff.

  2. i've always liked Kicker amps simply because of the efficiency with heat dissipation, and the accessibility to the control features. But its up to you, i think it might be better to stick with the Kicker amplifier as it will allow the sub to reach its optimal output potential. BTW the cvr pounds. :)

  3. the kicker...u will get better sound quality with the jl,  but u wont be powering ur sub to its potential, so overall ur better off with the kicker...just make sure the sub in a proper enclosure..that makes a world of difference

  4. Kicker amp, I've had both and the Kicker sounds better.
