Kicker l7 15'' or alpine x 12'' and why?

It depends..wut would u rather have, more bass or more quality?  Kicker makes greats subs, no question about that, but they tend to focus more on loads of bass.  Even though both subs you are looking at have 1000 watts RMS, the L7 is square (16 to 20% more cone area) so more air is moved and becomes much louder.

     Alpine has been one of the top dogs in sound, so they focus more on accuracy and quality (from I what I read and hear).  Their Type Rs are excellent so Im guessing the Type X would have superior sound quality.  I bet the power and quality built into this sub would be excellent as well.

     If I were you I would go with Alpine, just because I prefer sound quality over power.  However, if you really want loads of bass and have people hear you from 2 miles, stick with Kicker.  Either way both brands great to choose from.
