  1. Type of tee is all about what works for you. They are only a few quid so get a medium height on and go from there.

As for kicking tips try this link........

Its a master class from the master himself.

  2. I recommend a Dan Carter style 'Supa tee' as made by Carta sport. But its down to your personal preference and the way you kick the ball really. if any of your mates have tees try using theirs and see which model feels best.

As for technique a good method is to line the seam of the ball up so that it is in between the posts take 3/4 paces back and 4/5 to the side; then concentrate on the part of the ball you want to kick (on the lined up seam, just under half way) and also on the posts, when you feel ready take your run up and strike through the ball, remember to keep your head down and focus on where you want to hit the ball. when kicking the ball you want to use a pointed foot and make contact with the ball with the hardest park of your foot, also remember to plat you non kicking foot just next to the ball as you swing. After you have kicked the ball your chest should face directly towards the sticks then hopefully you can watch the ball sail through the uprights.

  3. I'm a semi-pro number 8 who can kick conversions. I practice kicks at training and agree that the Dan Carter "Supa tee" is the best.

As for techniques, try to visualise the line the ball wll take when you kick. Move your arm when you kick as it helps your balance, allowing you to kick straighter.
