I think yamamoto would take it , because he is stronger, crazier , former k-1 fighter , olympic team wrestler more experienced. But Faber is on a fckin roll , so I won't count him out.

  1. Now that unlike what the WEC claims Faber-Pulver was, would be the biggest fight at LW.

I would hesitate to put my money on either fighter because they are really top of the charts. Still if I were a betting man I would pick Kid. I think he is a better wrestler which is really Faber's strength and has better striking. Faber showed a much improved standup game in his fight with Pulver, but it comes more naturally for Kid than Faber.

  2. Yamamoto for sure. He's the Fedor of the lightweights.

  3. Faber has the momentum and that would be the difference in a close match.  After his win, a lot of top prospects in the lower weights will be gunning for him.

  4. faber of course look what he did to the legend jens pulver

  5. I think people who are handing this to Faber based on his peformance against Pulver haven't seen enough of or know who Kid has fought.  He has faced much tougher competition than Faber on the whole.  Not saying Faber doesn't stand a chance, but it will be by far his toughest fight  to date and will face his biggest chance of losing.  Kid is strong, hits hard, can match wrestling, I think he hits considerably harder.

I think this is the best fight out there at 145, hopefully WEC can get a cross pormotion together and make this fight happen at the end of the year.

  6. I just watched some Highlights of Yamamoto and I am very impressed. His only loss was because of a cut. I would cheer for Uriah but in MMA anything can happen. This would be a great matchup. However, Yamamoto has signed with DREAM. An organization that is just starting that the old owner of Pride are putting together. Could the WEC get Yamamoto to come over?  I sure hope so........FYI Yamamoto's father was in the olympics in the 70's and Kid tried for the olympics for Beijing but an injury prevented him from continuing. This is according to wikipedia.

  7. If its fought at 145 lbs., Faber would take it.

  8. Yeah cro cop was k1 too. Lets not forget all the hype that followed him to the ufc. Let's just be real about this. He faced a very ready Jens Pulver and came out of the ring looking like he came into the ring. The boy is ontop of his game in a big way. I don't see anyone stopping him without a really lucky shot. End of round 5 he didn't look beat up, he didn't look winded, he looked like he was ready to do it again. I think everyone including Kid Yamamoto got a big reality check as to the total package that is Urijah Faber. Anyone stepping up is probably just looking for the losers portion of the purse.
