  1. Kidney stones are relatively common.  I had reason to spend a lot of time in emergency rooms over the last few years, and I think one of the most common reasons for people to need to go there is for kidney stones.  The usual way to get rid of one is to pass it.  In more extreme circumstances surgery may be required.  Here are a couple of helpful links with information about kidney stones.

  2. Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of a kidney stone is to pass it.  Yes, it is VERY painful (the only pain that is compared with childbirth with regards to its intensity).

If you doctor feels you may have a stone, I hope he gave you some pain medication.  If the pain is severe, you may need to go the the Emergency Department for IV pain medication.  You need to seek immediate medical treatment if your pain symptoms are accopanied by a fever, persistant vomiting, or an inability to pass urine.

Ultrasound (sound wave) therapy and surgery are occasionally used for kidney stones, but ONLY when the stone is so large there is no way to pass it.

  3. IF confirmed by scan you will need ULTRA SOUND TREATMENT ITS VERY GRADUAL AND PAINFUL BUT IT BREAKS UP THE STONES

PS ONCE YOUVE HAD THEM THEY TEND TO COME BACK ITS A SIGN YOUR NOT DRINKING ENOUGHT FLUIDS !!!!!

  4. First off you do NOT necessarily need any special treatments as most pass right through on their own!  Second drink lots and lots of water so it does wash on through, then follow your DOC's advice.

It may or may not hurt when it passes and it might just be naggy pain as it gets to your bladder.

  5. yea a lot of people old people got them but not too old

  6. I get kidney stones about every 6 months and if You drink a lot of water then most of the time you can pass them!  have you had a ct scan or x ray?  how big is it?  if it is too big to pass safely then they will put you to sleep and do surgery to remove it!  trust me it would be better if you could pass them on your own cause when they put a stint in you it does not feel good!  if you have any questions you can email me at danielteresaleight@yahoo.com
