  1. I have heard of that as long as it is stage I and they got it all. However if you don't feel comfortable talk with another Doctor.

  2. There are many different types of cancer which a person could have. I had this type of kidney cancer long ago when I was 19 years old, and I did not need any treatment after surgery. It all depends on the stage and other factors known about a particular type of cancer.

There are cancers (radical medullary thyroid cancer) which don't even respond to chemo or radiation, and often doctors do not even attempt treatment other than surgery.

I've survived these types of cancer and I do plenty with my life. I think your brother will be fine.

  3. You should be happy he doesn’t need additional treatment. If he did his chances would not be so good, as most kidney cancers are resistant to chemotherapy. Radiation therapy is used to relieve symptoms in patients who are not curable or sometimes in patients who have had a partial nephrectomy.
